Friends:

It’s been a fun weekend. On Friday, the hubby took me out for our anniversary dinner. We ate ate K-Pauls in the French Quarter, Chef Paul Prudomme’s famous restaurant. The food was good. The service was excellent! They even covered our table with heart confetti.

On Saturday, after laundry, organizing my room, overhauling my office, giving the kitchen a DEEP scrub and oiling all my cherry cabinents, I got to be the FUN mom. Eliana’s cousins, Camrynn, Ashlynn & Jasmynn came over to spend the night so Eliana could have one last summer slumber blast before school started.

We started by filming an episode of Eliana Cooks and included her cousins. They made Hickory Parmesan burgers and had a “burger bar” where everyone put together their own burgers. Yum!

We had cake and peanut butter ice cream and celebrated with an UN-birthday party! (Thank you, Alice in Wonderland…) Later, we built a fort out of the kitchen chairs, one of my storytelling backdrops, and a large piece of a buggy sheer fabric. Jasmynn fell asleep in Eliana’s room so she is not in the pictures.

The bug fabric was sheer so it was their “bug net,”protecting them from all the vicious insects in the jungle.

Their “survival gear” included binoculars, a Polaroid camera, explorer journals, a compass, a fishing pole, and flashlights. It was so much fun and after they explored the “jungle,” they wrote in their travel journals.

Today is a “lazy” Sunday and I don’t have to cook dinner! The family is making nachos. Mmmmm. Soleil is better and we are now swine flu-free! Thank you to everyone who sent well-wishes.

Until next time…

Warmly, Dianne
