Friends:

This past Sunday, I threw a “Cupcake Cutie” birthday bash sleepover for Eliana to celebrate her 11th birthday! This is what the table looked like.

This is what the individual place settings looked like. We had to kinds of cupcake plates and lots of hot pink!

First the girls made taco salad cupcakes, taco salads made inside ramekins that are made to look like cupcakes.

A small tortilla is placed inside a ramekins and baked at 400 degrees for 7 minutes. Layers of lettuce, cheese, and ground meat are placed inside. Sour cream is piped on top with a grape tomato as the cherry and shredded cheese as the sprinkles. The girls’ tacos came out uber cute! Dinner was accompanied by a vanilla cream soda punch (1 part vanilla cream soda, 1 part ginger ale, hefty scoops of vanilla ice cream). Yum!

After Kid Chef Eliana that, made strawberry shortcake cupcakes with fresh strawberries.

They were soooo delicious!

Then it was time to blow out the candle on her birthday cupcake!! Actually, the cupcake she is blowing out is a candle in the middle of mini cupcakes!

Then it was time to open presents. Kid Chef Eliana got a wild new apron!

She also got a sweet little ceramic cupcake with an “E” on top.

I think one of her favorite presents of all was her new Cupcake Cutie Room!!!

After opening presents, we played a game and the girls had a cupcake collage contest. They all voted on their favorite cupcake art. In my opinion, they are all winners!

Then they made chef hats from construction paper and white plastic grocery bags. Adorable young chefs! You can make this chef hat too. Instructions are on Kid Chef Eliana’s website.

Look at Kid Chef Eliana! Love the funky birthday glasses! :)

6-19-11 Happy Birthday, Kid Chef Eliana!

Then it was time to decorate cupcakes that the girls baked earlier. I created a “Cupcake Bar” with different types of frosting, different kinds of sprinkles, and chocolate chips. The girls went to town!

Josie’s cupcakes came out awesome!

After decorating and eating those tasty treats, we did our last craft and activity for the night. They made cupcake bags by decorating colorful canvas bags with bright fabric paint. They came out great and were perfect to tote all of their goodies home the next morning.

6-19-11 Eliana and her friends made cupcake tote bags - so precious!

It was a fabulous party and the girls had a blast. Cheers to the Cupcake Cuties! Young Chefs Rock!

6-19-10 Eliana blows kisses to her adoring fans

Friends:

This past weekend, we celebrated Eliana’s 10th birthday in grand style by throwing her a “Hooray for Hollywood” party complete with a limousine ride to and from the movie theater!

When Eliana’s friends arrived, they were escorted inside the gala but first had to pose for pictures on the red carpet.

Inside, the house was adorned with Hollywood-themed decorations. The custom sign was ordered from Shindigz.com, where I purchased many of the party accessories including the red carpet, the Golden Star awards, the Hollywood Walk of Fame stars, the director’s clap boards, and the partyware.

When the girls entered the house, they had to stop to sign the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Each girl signed her own star.

Of course, Eliana the birthday star, had to sign the Hollywood Walk of Fame too!

The girls were ushered into a seating area and we held the Golden Star Awards Ceremony (our version of the “Oscars”). Each girl won Best Actress in a different film category: sci-fi, action, comedy, drama, musical, and best actress in the motion picture of the year.

Of course, Eliana won the “big” award. :)

After the awards ceremony, we sang “Happy Birthday” to the star of the evening. Look at her gorgeous cake! It was made by Lana & Dana, a sister team that makes phenomenal cakes.

The highlight of the party for the girls was the limousine ride to and from the movie theater. None of them had been inside a limo and it was quite a thrill!

When they emerged from the limo, the paparazzi (the girls’ parents) were waiting to snap pictures. The girls even had to sign autographs!

We had reserved seating at the AMC Palace 16 movie theater to see Toy Story 3 in 3D. A whole row of seats were reserved for us! After the wonderful movie, it was time for the limo to pick up the girls. Inside, we held a toast for the birthday star, Eliana.

We didn’t expect the surprise visit from Lady Gaga!

The night ended with a sleepover. After the girls ate cake and Eliana opened her presents, the little starlets settled in and watched Gentlemen Prefer Blondes starring Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell. Happy 10th Birthday, Eliana!

After making chocolate fudge, it was jammie time! The girls got in their jammies, made hot cocoa, settled in their sleeping bags, and watched “A Christmas Story,” the classic movie about Ralphie and his quest for a bee bee gun. The girls had a ton of fun and it was a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays!
