Note from Dianne:
Friends, thank you so much for being a “Fan of Dianne!” I now have over 500 fans. It astonishes me how it grew from 70 to over 500 in just over a month. Thank you so much for your support. I <3 U!

It has been a couple of weeks since I sent the last update. I have been traveling and presenting at various conferences. A couple of weeks ago, I was a featured speaker at Encyclo-Media in Oklahoma City. What a fabulous conference! I met so many amazing teachers and librarians, and made new friends! The conference was so well organized and I was treated so well.
Last week, I had the privilege of an author visit at Hillsboro Elementary School in Hillsboro, Tennessee (Thank you Nancy Dickinson!). Then I was a keynote speaker at the Tennessee Association of School Librarians Conference. Another awesome conference! I love the Tennessee librarians! We had such a great time and again, I made more friends!
Next week, I travel to California for school visits and a big book dedication ceremony for my 7/8th grade English Teacher, Karleen Good. My newest book, Scared Silly: 25 Tales to Tickle and Thrill, is dedicated to that incredible woman!
I look forward to hearing from you! Laissez les bon livres rouler! Let the good books roll! -Dianne de Las Casas

* Book Review: “There’s a reason why chickens and cockroaches are not friends. Long ago, there was Madame Poulet, who was clean and fussy but her tidy habits were wasted on her associate Monsieur Roach, who was lazy and shared no responsibility for the building they shared as a home. Illustrated with a unique and elegant style by Marita Gentry, this 32-page hardcover teaches lessons about compromise and friendship.” – NW Indiana Times
* Dianne received word that a new book contract is on the way! Tales from the 7,000 Isles: Filipino Folk Stories will be published by Libraries Unlimited. It will be co-authored by Zarah Gagatiga.
* Dianne’s friends and family in the Philippines have been severely affected by the recent typhoons and flooding in the Philippines. Please help. Donate. http://www.redcross.org.ph/

The students, teachers and I had the time of our lives. Her new book, Madame Poulet and Monsieur Roach, is adorable. But, oh, when she tells it, it comes to life and is hilarious!
